Code of Conduct

Latinx Games Festival is committed to ensuring a safe and inclusive event for all attendees, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or any other protected category. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We encourage all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, media, exhibitors, and participants to contribute to creating a safe and positive event experience for everyone. Latinx Games Festival takes violations of this policy very seriously and will take appropriate action in response to any incidents.

Expected Behavior

  • Act considerately, respectfully, and collaboratively.
  • Avoid any demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be aware of your online presence and that of fellow participants. Notify Latinx Games Festival organizers if you observe a dangerous or inappropriate situation, or if someone appears to be in distress.
  • Follow the instructions given by session moderators, monitors, or any Latinx Games Festival staff.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Unacceptable behaviors include: intimidation, harassment, abuse, discrimination, derogatory comments, or demeaning conduct by any attendees at Latinx Games Festival and related events. As many Latinx Games Festival venues are shared with the public, please be respectful to all patrons.
  • Harassment encompasses: offensive verbal comments related to race, gender, gender identity and expression, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or other protected categories; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public areas (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Wearing clothing that is unsuitable for a professional work environment, provocative, or otherwise potentially offensive is prohibited.
  • Any form of written, verbal, or other abuse, intimidation, threats, annoyance, harassment, stalking, and/or spamming against any person that creates a disruptive or dangerous disturbance, or causes apprehension in a person, as determined by Latinx Games Festival and its show management at their sole discretion, is not allowed.
  • Boisterous, lewd, or offensive behavior or language, including but not limited to using sexually explicit or offensive language, materials, or conduct, or any language, behavior, or content containing profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious, gender, or ethnic slurs, is prohibited.
  • Gathering with the intention of disturbing the peace, committing any unlawful act, or engaging in any offensive behavior is not permitted.
  • Failure to comply with any rules or regulations of Latinx Games Festival or its vendors is unacceptable.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

  • Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated from any attendees, media, speakers, volunteers, organizers, venue staff, sponsors, or exhibitors.
  • Anyone asked to stop engaging in unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
  • If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the Latinx Games Festival organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.
